LASIK eye surgery is the result of this advancement which becoming both famous and affordable these days. It has become the most popular method of vision correction in just a short span of time. LASIK is a short form for Laser Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis. This technology uses a laser beam to reshape the cornea present in the eye. It vaporizes small amounts of cornea tissue which reshapes the cornea and corrects the vision of the eye. LASIK surgery is effective in treating nearsightedness (myopia), astigmatism, and farsightedness (hyperopia). Before going for the LASIK eye surgery, one must get his eyes checked up from an ophthalmologist who would check his eyes for any defects which can be corrected using LASIK or not. If there is a defect found which is mandatory to be corrected by this type of surgery then only one should go for LASIK surgery. LASIK surgery has evolved the procedure of eye surgery and has given it a new shape.
